From the Library Director
We hope you find the library’s spring Faculty Newsletter useful. I would like to update you on our Library Commons. As you may have noticed, the Library Commons has enhanced its resources for teaching, learning and research. In addition to the pleasing 1st-floor ambience, the Library Commons provides the following...

-

· 32 student check-out laptops
· 4 iMacs in a high-end Creation Station Macintosh Lab
· 7 flatbed scanners
· a Digital Services area with various computers,
larger flatbed scanners and new ATIZ cradle scanner
· 4 student collaborative study rooms
· Ubiquitous wireless access -
With the renovations complete, we now have the same ambience on the 2nd-floor.
The 2nd floor Upper Commons has:
· Extensive and varied seating
· 6 “living rooms” around the atrium
· Ubiquitous wireless access
· 44 desktop computers
· 35 individual study carrels
· 30 study tables
· InTeLeR (interactive teaching, learning and research) desk which provides 3 teaching computers and seats 9 patrons.
Also the ground floor Lower Commons now provides:
· Seating for 70 with desktops and printers
· Ubiquitous wireless access
· 15 group work tables
We look forward to further collaboration in teaching, learning and research.
